Description:

The Temporary Social Worker will work with our in-house attorney and pro bono counsel to address our clients’ social service needs as they receive legal services through Human Rights First’s Refugee Representation program. Hurricane Harvey has magnified our asylum-seeking clients’ social service needs. Our clients do not have access to the traditional safety net programs that provide assistance in the wake of natural disasters. Thus, we intend for our temporary social worker to connect our clients to services in the local area, with the goal of stabilizing their psychosocial situations, facilitating attorney-client communication, and engaging Human Rights First’s partner agencies and social service organizations to achieve successful client outcomes. This position is for four months, likely to start January and end April 2018.
