Def Poetry Jam reunites in Houston on Sunday Sept. 22, 7 p.m. Miller Outdoor Theatre reunites poets from the hit HBO and Broadway shows to salute the remarkable rise of the Houston Museum of African American Culture into a mainstay of the Houston and national cultural scene. Talents will be drawn from the HBO & Broadway casts and include: Black Ice, Steve Coleman, Kraal "Kayo" Charles, Jessica Care Moore, Vanessa Hidary, and The Last Poets - considered to be the fathers of modern rap.

Free tickets for the covered seating area are available at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office on the day of the performance between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. There is a limit of four tickets per person over age 16, while they last. For more info on great events happening in the Houston area, visit
